Professor (Dr.) Sudeepta Kumar Swain is a highly accomplished Senior Consultant in Surgical Gastroenterology and Robotic Surgery at Apollo Main Hospital, Greams Road, Chennai, and Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, Chennai. His subspecialty expertise includes robotic gastrointestinal surgery, GI oncology, and hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery.
He completed his MBBS (1996) and MS in Surgery (2001) from SCB Government Medical College, Cuttack, Odisha. He further enhanced his skills with an Upper GI Endoscopy and Colonoscopy Fellowship (2008), Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (2010), DNB in Surgical Gastroenterology (2015), and a Certificate Course in Robotic Surgery (2016). He is also certified in Peritoneal Surface Malignancy management with Cytoreductive Surgery (CRS) and HIPEC.
With over a decade as Senior Consultant at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, Dr. Swain has performed 400+ robotic GI surgeries and 5,000+ GI surgeries, including 2,600 minimally invasive procedures.
